There needs to be an additional reason why someone would exercise a discovered control over reality? I don't think so! Attempting to exercise control over reality is a motivation for other activities! I think if possible, maybe drag her habitual return to the color switch out a bit with regard to the timeline of the story. Also in my head, there should be some negative consequences attached to her fiddling around with reality. That's the only way I can think of that makes her decision at the end seem less arbitrary.
