Need Help With Social Skills High School..?

I am very handsome and I have no problem talking with the best looking females. Basically my only problem is I am a internet nerd and I cant start a conversation. I take 2 buses to a suburban school because my mother dont want me going to a Detroit Public School. IDK why because I have no problems at schools and get along with everyone and I want to go to a school close to me. But she thinks that kids there will try to rob me because im short and skinny, but I am smart and know how to get out a lot of things ...but anyways back to the point. Basically I cant start a conversation right. When I was in 8th grade I went to a small class charter school. It was a 1 floor school and only about 17-20 people in a class. I go to a suburban high school...which only has 1 floor and its a college prep school too...but its kinda big even though it only has 1 floor. At my old school in 8th grade, i was used to girls starting conversations with me. Their was so little people, and i was one of the few most handsome guys in the school. Now im in high school and there is a lot of other handsome guys there, and girls are not just gonna waste their time on you, if your not talking, and they have like 300 other guys that wanna talk to them, and is handsome. I mean...sometimes I will "join" a conversation...but thats only if it is about me. But I see other guys starting conversations with girls with no problem ...Even if its not about them..like idek how to explain it but...they do it well. So how can I do this. I have no problem with looks or anything...any suggestions ...Please dont tell me something lame like "Hi whats your name" or "How was your day" that is lame and they will look at me like "umm ok". And...this is in the middle of the school year so.. yeah I basically know everyone name...just havent talked to them on a "friendly level" yet. 10 points best answer.
